I have come across a dealer based in NW London called WYArgent, which has offered me a reasonable deal on some metal I wish to sell.

Does anyone know them / of them ?

The people running the outfit are called Bob Weaver and Ben Yaghooby.

Any info gratefully received !

Sorry that's a new one for me but many metal dealers have sprung up over the last few years so it's hardly a surprise.

I guess it depends on what you mean by metal.

If you're looking for a trustworthy refiner in the U.K and it's gold you're selling check out gold-traders.co.uk who I've dealt with a few times and it's one of the few places that can give you an online instant quote. They also payout by bacs on the same day.

They vary between 90% to 94% of spot price on gold which isn't as high as the reported 98% you hear about but it's the best I've found in the U.K

They also buy platinum and silver but the payout is poorer at around 76% to 80% for platinum and around 50% for silver.

All I can say is you can't have tried very hard to find better rates, even the shops in the Birmingham jewellery quarter pay higher rates than that and there are at least 5 names I can think of that will pay 96%+ of spot depending on quantities.
The Bullion Room,Plus Gold,NTR Metals, Cooksons,Stephen Betts and Louis Antiques all leap to mind and better rates are usually available if you have a bar and an assay.
Can I add for clarity I'm am in no way part of any of the above companies and I'm sure I have missed out several others that offer similar rates.

Thanks nickvc for the information and you're probably correct in your assumption. Someone else I know recommended gold-traders and I liked their honesty and helpful comments but I will take your advice and shop around a bit.
