Hey neighbor

Cool! Did y’all get covered in snow, like we did? Some places in Pensacola got almost a foot of snow. The whole town closed down for a week.

Yes we did.... more than I have ever seen in our local area. I was in Kentucky at the time, so my son sent us pictures.

I was born and raised in Ohio, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me.

Yeah, it was apocalyptic for folks like me who were not used to it. I heard that we got more snow than anywhere in the U.S. including Alaska or Minnesota, at least on that day. So, I guess from your avatar, you’re an Eagle driver at Tyndall?

The F-15 pilots are referred to as Eagle Drivers.

As an aircraft mechanic (F-15 eagle/strike eagles) we're referred to as Eagle keepers. However, as a bunch of hard working, dirty, fowl mouthed, alcoholic's, the civilized half of the Airforce had many other names for us.... we always considered that as an achievement :):)

Also spent some time in the U-2 program..... two totally different worlds.

And all of this time I took your handle literally as someone who kept eagles, the feathered kind!

I had a friend years back who kept falcons and rented his services out to clear large indoor spaces of pigeons, and their associated droppings. Likely why I associated your handle with the pigeon hunting variety.

There's still places today that use falcons to clear small airport runways from migrating birds. I think there's still people that use falcons to hunt small game as well.

I always wondered if anyone was ever going to ask me that question. :)

When I lived on Long Island NY (20 years back) I was very close to Grumman Aerospace's Riverhead facility where fighter jets would fly up from Florida to be worked on at the plant. My friend, the falconer, always said his best customer was Grumman where pigeons seemed drawn to their hangars. (and deer to their runways!)
