Hi guys
kindly please assist. i am a newbie in this field of precious metal collection.

on the 5th of Jan i worked with some cellphone boards and computer boards(5kg). I covered the boards with HCl than I followed with H2O2. My solution started bubbling in the bucket as gold flakes were appearing at the top which gave me some excitement . After the solution stopped bubbling and nothing was happening in the bucket, I filtered the solution and cleaned off some flakes which were still left on the boards.

The problem started when I tried to clean the lead which was filtered with the flakes nd some boards which had some gold on them, I placed everything on bucket as I thought I was saving, I did like the first time by pouring HCl first than following with H2O2 but this time I just poured too much peroxide as my solution was bubbling vigorously for some minutes till it settled. I didn't filter the solution mediately as I wanted it to totally settle. When I filtered the solution, I noticed that the were no flakes but only some plastics and some not desolved metals. I got frustrated than left everything like that till the 8th. On the 8th, I cut some copper pipes and place them in the solution trying to get some black sand. I placed the copper pipes in the morning than when I went to check in the afternoon, the was nothing happening and the copper pipe is still in the solution.

Kindly please advice on what must I do to get my precious metals back. Please assist.

Welcome to the forum.

In all probability you successfully digested the gold foils with too much oxidizer. At that point you can filter it and test with stannous chloride to be sure you get a gold stain. With only a few boards you may have gold in solution but not enough to see when it cements out. Stannous will verify if it was there and if it is still in solution.

Check out our video section in the library as Sreetips has an excellent video of this process from start to end.

Thanks will do that. It's a struggle to come across tin metal on this side of the world, to make a stanoues chloride test let alone to get ready made stanoues chloride.
