What are you looking for in our community? : Learning experience, meeting people from all over with the same interests and hopefully new friendships.

My backyard reminds of of years ago at my grandmothers place with all the colored water bottles she had in here windows.(lol)My last venture last nite ended up with alot of white gray precipitate. This came from 5 ounces of gold filled. I will be asking many question soon. VERY GOOD INFORMATIVE SITE. VERY WELL ORGANIZED. Glad to land here...

Welcome to the forum, Rick.

Curious about your interest in trains. If you like the live steam models, you might be interested in a forum where they are the subject of discussion. All scales are discussed, although 3/4" and 1½" scales are the most common.

I would love to get involved with the live steam models. I should have been more specific. I have the n scale electric trains. I had all scales back in the 60's. In the last 15 years I got into buying the junk from the 60,s and rebuilding them. Since my surgerys and the age my hands and eyes have a hard time with something that small...

I would love to check into that forum. My wife would love for me to have another hobby. lol
Thanks

Here's a link to the Chaski board.

Very polite atmosphere------no profanity, no politics, no flaming permitted. No religion, either.

You can peruse the forum, but you must be registered and approved to post. If you're interested in signing on, when you apply, make mention of your interest in steam and trains in general. The Chaski board consists of various sections, relating to machining and other skills, plus a section for steam locos. Marty, the administrator, scrutinizes each application and will reject anyone that doesn't provide the proper responses. That's a result of having several people join the board, then promoting their agendas, including porn and prescription drug sales. The board has been very clean since he started approved registration, so it's worth the added effort.
