Im sure it has been discussed but what are the acceptable materials the container can be made of. Is 316L stainless or higher usable?

During the reaction a slow feed of 3%H2O2 can accellerate the process, has any one ever tried bubbling straight oxygen? sounds expensive but I am thinking from electroylsized H2O, keeping the hydrogen and oxygen from meeting .

I would shy away from using any metal containers. Plastic and glass... I prefer glass.

I wonder... would bubbling the pure oxygen thru it cause the gold to oxidize?

I don't see why not. I have read about processing ore with Chlorine gas to convert Gold into water soluble salts that can be recovered by rinsing the ore with water, then recovering the values from solution. So, it may well be possible. Just a guess though. Rick.

Just remember, with gold plated you are trying to keep the gold foils "out of" solution, if you are using AP to dissolve karat jewelry, I think there are better options like inquartation then nitric.

I "believe", and this is coming from prior forum topics, which I can't find offhand, air is commonly bubbled through AP solutions to "recharge it", and atmosphereic air being very low in oxygen, pure O2 would deffinitely speed things up, if that is your goal.

I believe it is the copper "copper II Chloride" that makes the AP start to work as an etchant, so if there is no copper, "hard to imagine", in the materials you are refining you will find AP very very very slow.
