This is a cope out answer gp is basically the same as gold filled but an extremely less gold used in gp.but if u ask for general yeild in gold filled people just answer around 2.5% not what the combined surface area of all pieces and the thickness of the gold that's left. And age of the pieces and don't forget to calculate the hours the piece was worn by previous owners and the activity they did while wearing to know the amount of wear of gold. A simple generally expectation is ~.0025 - .01% on gp. We're as gold filled the yeild expection is ~ .02 - .03% at least those were my numbers in past batches.It takes very little gold to give color. It will be up to you to figure how many square inches of surface are in a pound of your average plated stuff.
