ive been condensing my old AP for better storage when i came across this in the bottom of a bucket that had been sealed for months.i broke it apart and stored it in a glass jug with a plastic lid. i covered it in copper chloride solution to keep it from decomposing.Picture 054.jpgPicture 055.jpgPicture 056.jpgPicture 058.jpg

Those crystals are excellent consumers of copper metal with the aid of muriatic acid and some air. You can mix them up and use the resulting solution as a fresh etch. The true workhorse of Acid Peroxide.

Another use of the crystal is a source of chlorine when heated to 1000C. The by product is Copper I Chloride (acid soluble) and chlorine gas.

Thanks Steve, i knew that it would be useful for something. i would imagine that the crystals is a much purer form of copper chloride because of the absence of all the other metal impurities.
