I am ashamed to have to admit.
My first attempt into refining gold was at the hands for this bloke."Rhino Mining".
I had run a silver cell since I was in school but I had not progressed to A.R. so he seemed earnest and affordable.
Luckily after making a very big mess I found these chaps and after about six months I managed to rescue about 80% of what I had managed to turn into mud.
Good classroom demonstration but not a method of refinement or recovery.
