Cleaning gold foils

After striping several boards ended up with a mess of foils but a lot of solder/silver crap in thier trying to wash out, I see why its imoprtant to make sure its clean before you stip, a mu suggstions as too cleaning the solder/silver crap out out of the gold foils and black powder ?

Using nitric acid. Both lead and silver will dissolve.

Be sure to treat your solution carefully since it contains dissolved lead (lead salts are very toxic.
