Hey All,
I have been using nitric acid to remove base metals. The same bit of nitric acid has gone a long way, but I think its time to retire it. The solution is deep blue. Do I need to get the base metals out of the solution prior to neutralization and ultimately disposal? I haven't found this section in Hokes book yet.

If you suspect you may have silver or palladium in your nitric a piece of copper sheet is the first step to cement any values, even if your in any doubt about whether there may be values in your solution it is always a safety net before you remove the other metals following the processes outlined.
