Greetings to all. My company (analitical equipment) received an offer: create innovative themes for diversification and modernization of refinery in Russia. I will be glad to any ideas, tips, cooperation, business proposals, new contacts.

Sounds like "We are payed as creative folks, but have no ideas. Please do my homework." Or it's just spam again. :D

Sorry I dont speak English well. And I am talking about next: I have a friend, who works on the siberian gold refinery factory (in top managerment). He said me about the need to modernize factory and diversification. I helped him with analitical equipment (ICP, ICP-MS), with quality control, we improved the laboratory - because my company is authorized distributor of Agilent Technologies. But deversification of gold rifining process it is not my qualification and area. That is why I try to find specialists (on the specialized forum), who will interested in cooperation for solve this porblem. Nobody cares? Ok, I am dont care too. I will search in other areas.

Please excuse me. Sounds really interesting. You should wait at least 2 days, - there are a lot experts on this forum.

DmitriyQuantum,
I am still having trouble understanding what you are looking for, it sounds like you may be looking for a consultant in the refining of precious metals.

I understand English is not your first language, at first I too thought your first post was some type of Spam, but with your second post I get the feeling you are looking for some help in a specialized area, if you can try saying what you are looking for in different ways there may be someone here who can understand and help.

Many times the message can get lost in translation.

What is your native language, we have members here of many languages, maybe one who speaks your language can help you to get your message across better.

Maybe it could help, if you tell us more about this refinery, what materials are they processing, ores, scrap? What processes are used at this point. Do they have a internet side for more informations? On the other side you shouldn't publish it unreflected, since companies have to keep their secrets. Maybe just enough to get the right people exited.

My native language is russian. I dont clearly understand what help I need. May be I need advices from people, who have good experience in the gold refining processes. I dont think the good idea is put detailed features and the name of the factory. I try to find who are intrested this cooperation in conceptually (with perspective for financial result in project`s future). All details - in personal communicating by mail, skype or phone, but not in publiс view. I will try to repeat the main theme in simple words: the factory is old, but have resources for opening new types of manufactoring, which coupled with main process - gold refining. Team of specialists is open for all new ideas and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Much of the information they may be seeking can be found in this forum, and much of that information can be found or the methods learned for free with some study of the forum, there are also professionals here that can help to answer questions, some even act as consultants.

To get help in specific areas you will need to provide enough information for the problem to be understood, also you yourself, or the company will have to understand enough of the process to be able to discuss the problem, and to understand what is given as answers to problems.

I'll take a stab at summarizing what I think Dmitriy is trying to say. He has a friend who works in the management of an old gold refinery in Russia. Dmitriy has helped him to improve their laboratory and quality control with analytical equipment he sells. His friend is open to other ideas that will help to update, improve, and diversify their product offerings, but Dmitriy doesn't know what kind of help this might be since he's not the man working at the refinery.

I'm not sure if his use of the term diversification means more modernization techniques, such as different or improved ways to refine, or if they're considering ways to broaden their product offerings, such as minting art bars, creating plating solutions, etc.

Or maybe I've just read it all wrong. :|

Dave

That's what I understood: broaden the kinds of processed materials, processes, offerings of products and services.

Welcome to the forum. Your request is one which can be helpful for a good number of our members as it potentially involves everything from mining the material all the way up to recovery and refining. But we need more specifics to begin.

Siberia has mines yielding gold and platinum ores. The variations of what you may need are infinite depending on what types of ore they are processing and the form they receive it. There is a degree of consistency of material mines process so if you can give us some general analytical data and its concentration in the feedstock we will have a starting point to help you. As your company sells analytical equipment this information should be something you are familiar with.

Exactly what I was thinking. If it's the former (ie modernization techniques), then be aware that there has been a great deal of progress in the last 20 years or so, particularly in refining and particularly in Solvent Extraction (SX). If your refinery is not using SX, it's almost certainly worth considering.

As 4metals said:

Thank you all. I`ll try to get enough information for constructive conversation. And as diversification I mean open of additional production, which can be beneficial to combine with main manufacturing.

I think 4metals has it right as usual, the factory is old ie using dated production methods and equipment but has a steady flow of materials to process but which no doubt could be increased if the factory could handle it. Most mining operations surely concentrate and recover the values themselves and then pass the bars of known values to the refinery for final processing and sale of those values onto the market. That been the case I assume what Dmitriiy is looking for are ways to increase and improve the through put of materials and reduce operating costs if possible and again as 4metals said Russia produces not only gold but platinum and considerable palladium and probably other PGMs.
Adding value to the final product will be hard work as there are many big players in the market already so to me it's the refining and recovery where the point of this post is.
Where better to come than here, we have some of the worlds best minds on recovery and refining of precious metals resident on the forum so I'm sure that the help he's looking for can be found.

No doubt about that, folks, but nevertheless all those elderly industries are producing a lot of waste, which could be used smarter. So, I hope there are some win-win solutions to find for mother nature and this company. :)

Those companies could offer a contest for those ideas they want to use. To win some precious metals would be a nice motivation. 8) ..as long as we don't win a holiday in sibiria

Maybe the mods could build a private room and Dmitry could tell them who he trusts and who he wants to invite to that room, - then it is not too public. Just to save the synergy of multiple brains.
