"Zombies are people too". If I come up with a concoction to make people into zombies, what would I need the gold for?

Governments have already done that its called television....

I can't find anything other than the original AP story. Seems to indicate he was using a leaching process on dirt and/or ores. What kind of leach would be "explosive" or is that local fire fighter/media hype?

"(AP) -- LAURENS, SC (AP) -- Authorities say the body of an amateur gold miner was found in a Laurens County home among toxic chemicals that could be explosive.

Multiple media outlets report the chemicals found at the scene Tuesday afternoon are used to separate gold from soil. The man's identity has not been released, but officials say he was known to dig for gold in the area. The home is located outside Sumter National Forest near Clinton. Investigators don't think his death is suspicious.

Deputies suspect the man died from chemical exposure. An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday.

Hazardous material crews were working to safely dispose of the chemicals. Barrell Stave Road was temporarily blocked off."

from a Haz Mat point of view, it may have been many things, maybe a can of diesel fuel ? who knows what this person had & how it was stored.

i won't ad in things that may cause an explosion when mixed.

They get paid by the incident so turn every little thing into a B-movie,then there is the legal problem of having to employ some one to go there.
If they do not have the paper work to prove they took every precaution for the safety of there front line officers,in ten years time a clever legal team is going to get a doctor to say some one's respiratory problems or cancer where caused by there exposure at an insident or incidents. With out the incident report the government would have to pay out .
All getting Little silly if you ask me.
If you where of a mind to be obtuse you could have argued that Howard Hughes was a potential terrorist stock pilling precursor to munitions in mason jars.
And rolled out a full hazmat team to clean up,well it did take a specialist cleaning team but for biological not chemical contaminants.

Here's one that happened in my area about 11 years ago. And people wonder why the establishment frowns upon the backyard refiner. It's not fair, but these two are prime examples. I've got a video some where to share to if i can find it again.

From what i can tell their is only five employes on staff. Looks like a start up company. The real question is which two of these geniuses was it and what the hell was they trying to do? You can't use them contaminated solutions for any lab work?

a Bioteck company refining in the back of a pick up truck???
Are you serious??I can think of very few gas chambers that would be so effective.
But I know how daft people can be if they want to throw stone's
I had a twenty year dialog with the environmental health office which related to noise pollution.
I had a number of clients a year who wanted me to make a lot of noise for a day or two on there land.
I wone on the point of law but they still put me out of business through just pure bloody mindedness.
One time on a farm on Dart-moor the neighbouring farm and authority tried to say I had caused five sheep to abort there lambs a mile away through noise alone.
My music was never that bad.
Personally I think it was the police helicopter hovering at fifty feet taking photo's,I could not hear the helicopter from where I was so it did not bother me.
