PGM'S are my thing rather than au, but still love em all of course!! Have done chemical refining (ap method) as well as furnace. Not really a beginner nor expert, still lots to learn.

Welcome to us.
PGMs are an order of magnitude harder than Gold and Silver and also in toxicity.
Most professional refiners don't even touch it.

Just to add.
AP is not a refining method nor is anything with a furnace.
That is recovery and concentration.

First off, interesting name given that I'm on long Island! Secondly, I agree the magnitude of difficulty is through the roof but it's worth the trial. Getting a hard time from refiners as well. Thx for that point, I thought they were just trying to screw me over.

Hmm, I can't see what Yggdrasil has to do with Long Island.

Welcome O'Neil,
I have a lot to do with Palladium, I find measurable amounts of this metal in Ewaste. I need to find an economical method for smelting small Quantities of Palladium. I have found a reference, on the internet, of how to smelt Palladium powder using a Tig Welder. I have not got any further, Hope someone can help

I think you mean melting.
A tig welder will not be suitable with fluxes and crucibles.

I precipitated the Pd metal powder from the PdHCl solution with Castible Aluminium.
I am adding a video and a picture
The Popping sound in the video comes from Hydrogen igniting at the Surface of the Hydrochloric acid. Sorry I cannot send
The fine white crystals are Palladium Chloride crystals from Aqua Regia leach after I decanted the AR
My secret to getting Pd crystal to drop out of leach solution is Proprietary

Sorry mate, but this looks like Lead Chloride to me.
From where did you get your Pd?
Pd chloride salts are usually a maroon red/brown color.
