Hi I have been using A/P and Hcl chlorox processes for about 2 years now quite successfully but after the process is complete even after 2-3 leaches I am left with a deep grey to black sediment in the filter. I was just wondering if anyone knows what it is? The auric chloride is clean and golden yellow but once it is filtered the black sediment remains. The feedstock is just fingers and occasionally black powder from pins out of cell. Is it just a consequence of the reaction between gold hcl and chlorox?

This might have absolutely nothing
to do with your issues,
but I figured I would go ahead
and let you know my experience
For about a month I was getting a grayish
black. Residue in My filters in fact
There's's a post on black powder in my filter
but not in my a/p.
but then your getting the black gray
after auric chloride ?
Anyways I came to the conclusion
that mine was tin ( or golden for a black powder)
Hope this helps steyr223. Rob

Thanks rob I thought it might be something like that. Although my fingers were pretty clean I'm not sure where tin could have come from
