Hey, GRF community, I'm so glad to have found this group!
I'm a hobbyist e-waste recycler and wanted to join to get to grips with more of the technical parts of the process. In particular, concerning circuit boards: what range of yields might I expect and how should boards be prepared before any acid soaking? (HCL+HNO3/HCL+H2O2/etc.)
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.
That's a too wide definition of your material. There are high grade and low grade boards and each component needs a different approach. The most gold is in the components. Some is on the socket contact strips or fingers. Large gold plated surfaces are usually ENIG plated gold. Vey thin.
