Hello everyone! This is an amazing community with lots of knowledge and I appreciate being able to join the group. My husband started the refining process on some ore he gathered. This is 3:1 Hydrochloric Acid and Nitric acid mixed with the crushed ore. He's not exactly sure where to go next with it so I thought I would reach out to gather more knowledge. Thank you all for any help in advance.

Welcome to us.
He has already started out in the wrong end.
One simply do not use Aqua Regia on ores.
Way too dangerous, expensive and creating too much waste.
Do you have an Assay.
Or Stannous chloride to test with?

No on both but I found stannous chloride to test with online that I can purchase. Do you have a preference? We do have a list of what is in the ore. Thank you for your time and information.

No need to buy Stannous, just dissolve some Tin Solder in HCl.
So how do you know what is in the ore if you have no assay?

An assay tests the ore and lists what is in it.
Such as good things and bad things and it will to some degree decide how you treat it.
Edit for spelling

How was it processed then?
And what do that list show?
I can't find how it was processed. I have also made him very aware of the dangers of arsenic. I read the information posted on here a few days ago. Is smelting better with the arsenic than aqua regia? I'm attempting gain as much information as possible. Thank you!
