So hey I’m “breezo” real name dedacted cause it’s the internet but man oh man I’d like to ask some questions I’ve got a gold ring that’s separating it’s metal or making rose gold ? And other metals seperate but it’s hard I know it’s tarnished but this is like a gold mostly and then rose gold on the top a pinch of what looks like platinum and maybe some silver, cxopper, nickel. It’s a black onyx 18k ring with 6 diamonds and I don’t know what the onyx is turned white like it’s a vintage estate sale and it’s very tarnished but I did small sanding on the outside just to see why the gold looked not right but it’s def real the white has gotten worse and the weird color just a tiny bit but the spots I sanded went back to how they were when I got the ring . Is this a normal or rare occurrence. Worth money still ?

Welcome.
Do you have pictures of said ring?

If the tarnished color came back after sanding, it likely is not a precious metal as they do not oxidize after sanding and would not have gotten tarnished in the first place.
A picture would help indeed.
