Hey everyone, it's been a while...circumstances have made it impossible for me to do any kind of refining. But I am looking for some help. I'm in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, I purchased three 2025 $5 Canadian Maple Leafs, that I suspect are fake. Because I used paypal to buy them I was able to get my money back, it was one of those too good to be true type things. Anyway, I have a pocket pinger, (all of my test solutions have gone bad) I have never been able to get a reliable ping test even with a legit coin. Anyway for some odd reason, holding one in my hand, it tells me something is off with them. I've pinged them (again never been good with that), I've weighed them (seems good), and measured them (spot on). Thing is I accidently dropped one on the floor and I expected to hear something but didn't. Anyway, I'm looking for someone near me who could reliably test them to see if my thoughts are confirmed. I'd rather have someone come by to test them but I know that is unrealistic. I can mail them to whomever, if they are good we can go from there, if they are fake as I suspect, they can be dealt with. Anyway let me know I'll be watching my email.

Thanks,

Rusty

Rusty, if you have an accurate scale, you can check the specific gravity. For small coins, you'll want something that can weigh accurate to .01 grams.

If you have a scale, I can explain the test. It's pretty simple.
