Do you have a photo of how you use flex seal?When I first made my filter bags I coated them with truck bed liner. Later I used Flex Seal as it was slightly cheaper. That "crap trap" is well worth having.
How did the flex seal hold up in the copper cell? It is certainly easy to paint it on the base of an anode bag but it is the chemical compatibility that may be of concern. It could also be useful in Silver cells but, again, chemical compatibility matters.When I first made my filter bags I coated them with truck bed liner. I haven't tried it in a silver cell, but it seemed to hold up well in the copper cell.A google search found this;
Flex Seal Liquid
This liquid rubber coating is chemical resistant, UV resistant, and prevents corrosion and rust. It can be used on a variety of materials, including concrete, glass, wood, plastic, and more.
However, Flex Seal is not compatible with strong acids, bases, oxidizers, and amines. It's also recommended to avoid exposing Flex Seal to incompatible materials and extreme temperatures.
The big question is the use of the word strong acids or oxidizers. The copper sulfate solutions as well as the silver nitrate solutions may be dilute enough to have little effect on the Flex Seal. Any first hand experience out there?
