I have 1 million tons of copper slag that needs to be cleaned/removed from a superfund site. I need help coming up with a solution just to get rid of it. I was thinking it might have enough value for a froth floatation plant but I'm not familiar with any in the USA. I'll attach some of the testing we've done on the slag to see if anyone knows how or where I could get rid of this stuff. The slag has been ball milled into a fine powder. We have processed the slag and it is now considered nonhazardous by the EPA. Thanks in advance for any help. Slag fines test .JPG

There is still some testing to be done. If the particles contain a rind, left as a coating of the metallic Cu on particles, an acid leach would work to beneficiate to Cu rather then floating the same particle. A testing lab would be of high value to determine the condition the particles are in. Depending on where you are located, the distance to the proper facility will dictate other costs, verses building one on site, with associated permitting costs. Not sure how to deal with the 40-50 % Iron. Get a good lab to make some decisions for you, as there is not enough info available here to give good advice, other than ask a lab for advise.
