Iodine Extraction

What are the necessary steps and processes involved with iodine extraction? Will it work with cpu's and plated contacts? I'm researching the pro's and con's of using this method in comparison to the methods using Sulphupic acid and a battery charger as mentioned at www.goldrecovery.us.

Iodine is not nearly as user friendly as some of the other halides, not to mention gov't regs.
