I recently read that people keep their magnetic material from processing incinerated flatpacks, because they assume some pm's in them. Has anyone good ideas, how to process it? In a cell maybe? Dissolve in acid? Leach? If it was allowed to oxidise completely to rust, maybe with some H2O2 (exotherm, can get very warm!), it could be leached like ores with high iron content?

use hcl. heat the solution and add some air from a bubbler and you will end up with ferric chloride. after all the iron is dissolved, decant the solution to a clean storage container and all that should be left is any precious metal. you can use the ferric chloride to strip fingers quickly (hours instead of days). place the ferric chloride in a heat resistant glass container and add the fingers and heat.it chews through copper pretty quickly.
