That is what he do.
Add random chemicals to assumed pregnant solutions and ask why it goes like it does.

What was your plan about adding Ammonia to the AR solution?
What was in the AR solution in the first place?
As I can see, the main thing that happens is the release of massive amounts of Ammonia gas.
Next you push the pH of the AR up so unknown Hydroxides form.
If that was the plan, you have succeeded.
Seriously, what about forming a plan and ask if that plan makes sense?
I know I am quite sarcastic now.
But I'm out of tools on how to get through to you.
Do you have any ideas on what works to get your attention?
Patience is a virtue, but there is a limit.
Adding ammonia to a solution that potentially contains gold is a bad idea.
