Welcome to us.
This seems a bit strange, as all you are telling us is what is common knowledge here.
You will not get much attention if you go into a saw mill and tell you know how to use a saw, will you?

If you want to contribute and draw attention you will need to tell us how your process differ or improve on the processes we already use here.

Hay, you never know.
I have heard rummers that some people in Kuwait will pay you over spot for refined gold.
Deep pockets and an honest investment will always be welcome.
But technally, having seen their recovery processes, we can help them as well.

Hey, As I want to stay ahead of the inflation rate i've started investing my savings. I was considering to invest some of my money in gold bars as it is easy liquidity, so i went to a few jewellers and they were telling me a price thats 10kd more than todays gold price they told me which is due to authentication certificates, payment processing fees etc. Can anyone tell me i'm not getting ripped off? If yes how much should the extra charges vary? Btw The gold bars were swiss made

That's normal. It's called the premium. When the market is tight the premiums can go up as well as the spot price.

Or do people with unethically sourced material pay more for ethical material than legitimate business can afford, so they can mix the two together?
Thus making their criminal assets seem more legitimate.

Money laundering through gold is a well known practice, and unethically sourced gold may also be bought at a lower price, but that's different to the seller's premium. The spot price is just the price of the gold itself, the seller cannot be expected to provide their service for free. The days of redeeming cash for gold directly at a bank are long gone.

In the UK, we have the NCA.
If you can not explain your assets, it will simply be taken off of you.
No mater if it is Property, Money or gold.
All systems are intrinsically designed to facilitate NCA's Criminal analyses for organized offensive.
If you think you can outsmart them, you are an idiot!

Easy brother! I think we have our lines crossed. I was responding to the user who was asking why jewelers ask a higher price than spot.

Also, what you are referring to there is an Unexplained Wealth Order- only two of them were imposed in the 23-24 financial year, and one in 22-23. They are incredibly rare.

Rare, but a regular approach to anyone who deals a substantial amount each year.
Better to understand the potential hazards your clients might take you into.
Then try to act surprised when a DCI turns up at your door asking questions.

Certainly it's a risk if you do toll refining on a large scale, yes. But generally it's more of a problem in countries where the government tacitly condones it. In the UK the main vehicle for washing criminal proceeds is the lax regulation of offshore companies.

In all honesty, speaking as a security professional of over forty years of experience.
You would have to be a total delusional piece of shit to even try to harm someone.
The lowest self-destructive lost soul who resides in a tent under our most rotten car park is still shown reverence in their destruction.
A small reverence, but one that is amplified into our fiscals and honer. Encompassing both tradition and honoring elders is "filial piety".
