At work I change heat meters in apartments. Each one includes a pair of platinum RTDs:

I've been dutifully saving these with the intention of trying to recover the platinum for fun; but am never going to have the time.
Anybody UK based want these? Yours for the postage.
Small PT500 chip on a PCB inside a stainless probe body. Chop the probe body below the brass nut to release the PCB. Approx 3kg / 6 lb gross for postage costs.
