Once HCL is added you no longer have nitric but AR.

For safety reasons, there are certain chemicals that we don't discuss on this forum. Red fuming nitric is one of these. Others are hydrofluoric acid and mercury. I will edit out the instructions you gave for making red fuming nitric. The maximum strength nitric needed for any process covered on this forum is 70%. Most on the forum are hobbyists with no prior background in handling chemicals. Safety is paramount. In the future, think before you post.
