So i've got some big water near the house. I live in a gold belt, so I know the color is there. Just wondering what your thoughts would be when trying some deep water.
Natural sluice formations. Anyone have the prior experience in this?

Welcome to us.

Water itself has not much to do with Gold.

And if it is large or small is insignificant as such.
But accsess to water will make it easier to wash/sluice or what ever you choose.

First you will need to check if you need permits or other paperwork.

Then you will need to retrieve samples to test.
If there is enough, it is descision time.

Since there are Gold around. Talk to the miners around you and ask what they do.

Do you have a dredge?
Test inside curves area.
Test just after rapid flow straight areas.
Test under larger rocks boulders areas.
Test bedrock cracked exposed areas, when bedrock cracked zones crosses river like a natural sluice.
Use crevis tools and sucker bottle. How deep? Do you use breathing air supply?
Any pictures?

You would be far better served, at this point, to join one or more of the many prospecting and mining forums. Most here are refiners, not miners.

I used sluices, highbankers, detectors and the like for many years before developing an interest in refining, and I have no idea what you mean by “big water”.

Time for more coffee.
