I have been reading some posts on here about melting gold, but want to make sure about a couple of things. First of all I am planning to use a fused silica dish which I will prepare by pre heating and coating it with melted borax. My main question is, do I need to use exra borax for the melt, or will the coating on the dish be enough. I'm also curious what some of you think about using just borax or should it be mixed with anything else. Thanks for any insight you can share!
