Today, my brother-in-law gave me an old Dell Computer.

I believe from looking at the various components that it is a 1998 model.

Here are two photographs of the Pentium Pro Chip.

people collect things for all kinds of personal reasons. personally, i like the symmetry of electronics. i feel that some parts are as beautiful as any work of art. too, there was only a finite number of these parts made.every day, more and more are being recycled for the PM content. there will come a time when they will be very rare indeed. they are sought after because of the supposed gold content. most people believe that because it has the big gold plated heat spreader, that it must contain a fortune in gold. anyone that is planning on starting a collection needs to have at least one in good shape. bent legs can be straightened.each one contains anywhere between $15-$20 worth of PM's, IF it was all recovered. a small price to pay for a centerpiece to a beautiful collection of CPU's.
