Try this place. They have "stores" all across the country. I use the one out here every now and then. I also use ARA. They both pay the same.

When I am in a hurry for some buy money I drive the three miles to their shop during lunch. Drop off my load of jewelry and eat my lunch in the parking lot. Without fail I go back in and a check is waiting for me and it is usually a bit more than expected.

This will solve your cash flow problem. Don't know if they have the same "drive thru window" as out here.

Ahh man that would be so ideal. The only problem is I live in panama city, so thats about 13 hours away. I did see they have one in tampa, but that is still 6.5 hours away.

I know of NTR metals as they are in the UK and seem straight enough, they use XRF but desk mounted models and they seem pretty accurate. If it's too far to drive use the postal service it's got to be cheaper and I'm sure NTR pay direct to your bank,I'd still want to melt my own scrap and ask for a verbal report before agreeing the price. I'm sure there's many refiners including fournines and ARA who are just as straight and who you can get good feedback about from here on the forum,so hit the phone and sort yourself an agreement out.

You're way ahead of the curve, young dude.

Let me give you some unorthodox advice. I suspect I am going to get hoots and howls from some of the other guys, but ignore them.

Forget about the taxes.

Let me be the first to advise you that this forum is not about counseling others in becoming criminals. Any further comments that parallel those that have been deleted will result in severe disciplinary action.

Hey Chumba!
I resent that Adult comment! Let me tell you something about all this, and I am serious about this......ok well I totally agree with you.
I don't agree paying someone else for something you already own (ie taxes). triplemgold I have a good job that pays me well and takes care of my family but I never felt so good doing something like free or buying low and reselling it for profit. Business is for adults stay a free 17 yr old and keep your gold locked up, your financial transactions in cash, and when heading out to make some money a road trip in car that should not be on the road is still a good road trip and adventure, take some friends with you and a bunch of travelling junk food and it will be worth more than gold (it's a canadian thing).

If you intend to do all cash transactions then you can forget about dealing with any established refineries, the Patriot Act took care of that. If you're taking a check, Uncle Sam knows, if you're working for cash, you're paying a few percent more for the services.

Guys that don't pay tax's have the same attitude when it comes to paying child support, leaving the burden of an abandoned family to the law abiding tax payer.

If you were counseling my teenager to commit a crime ie: tax evasion. I would report this to the authorities or charge you myself under a private information submitted to the Crown for further proceedings.

How easily you have forgotten that our your entrepreneurs first class of the day is criminal law. And that you have yourself said that you are currently appearing in court for tax evasion.

You have no right to counsel this young lad in breaking the very laws in which you stand trial on.

Ok, guys. I think we've let enough air out of this subject. Lets get back to refining precious metals. There will no further discussion about evading taxes.

Harold

ok Harold - respect to you
Just file and pay your taxes and all is good
but do this (I've learned this from the book the richest man in babylon) take at least %10 from all your sales (more if you can) all your life and put it into a registered education sales plan, another 10% in a registered home ownership plan, and another %10 into an Registered retirement plan, which will offset your extra yearly costs.
Listen to all respected people on this forum about buying and selling karat gold so you don't get burned. Compared to my 75% I get , 90% is decent. Really it's what you pay for gold that is in your control, What they pay you is just shopping around for more profit.

I am definitely going to file and get setup as a llc, it just takes time. I will pay my taxes, and do not have a problem with that.
I have been doing research and to start selling to places here in florida i need a second-hand metals license I believe.
Now if I ship it to say ARA which is in a different state will i need that to sell to them??
Also if i just ship one lot to a refinery will they give me a 1099 and report it?
Thanks everyone who has contributed. My knowledge is growing.

What are you, a serf? My, what good, law abiding subjects we have here.

I wasn't suggesting anyone break any laws. No one has to pay a tax for which they are not liable. The negative responses here are completely out of line and IMO are indicative of a captive mindset. I'm light years ahead of any of you on issues of taxation and law but this is not the proper forum. Suffice it to say, I'm owed an apology, expect none, and that's the last I'll have to say about it here.

You guys know what happened to Kitco recently ?

They had troubles with the govt' over here and I think it's a matter of taxes. Now they are deep water...
