What if the cabinet is aluminum will it still eat away at it? Should I put it in a wooden cabinet?

Not to down talk the effect of HCl fumes on iron and such, but here's how my zinc plated cheap iron rack looks like after ten years of being next to my fume hood with plenty HCl bottles and fumes passing it for ten years. And I know, i need to clean up.

So yes, it corrodes. But does not fall apart in days.
