Newbie from Hawaii

Hey everyone. I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Scott and I currenty live in Kaneohe, HI. I had an old computer and started looking around online to try to find out how to get rid of it and stumbled across one of Moose Scrapper's youtube videos which intrigued me so I did some more searching and voila, now I'm here!

I've already read Hoke's book and did a trial run with what I learned. I should have waited but oh well. I recovered <1g of gold but it obviously worked. I posted a few ads online and so far have accumulated 25+ computers, several CPUs (including a few Pentium Pros and K5s!), 50+ video/sound/network cards, etc....all for FREE!!!!!! Now I'm just waiting for my heat gun to arrive so I can start depopulating the tons of boards I have. I've gone through about half of the cards and have close to 1/2lb of fingers. I'm just super stoked that I found you guys (and that I have decent marketing skills)!!! I will keep you guys updated as to my progress.

I've also been doing a lot of reading on PM recovery from the MLCCs which I am hoping I should have quite a bit once I depopulate what I have.

Welcome to the forum, sounds like you will do good here and with your learning of recovery and refining.
In the safety section you can learn how to help keep yourself and others safe from the many dangers and toxic substances that are produced with what we do, you can also learn how to safely handle the toxic solutions you will form with the metals, in dealing with waste, to do your part in keeping your island safe and beautiful.

Thanks Buthcer. Safety is definitely my top priority. I have a degree in materials engineering so I understand the importance of safety, especially in a home lab without all the amenities provided in a professional lab!
