Noxx Well-known member Joined Feb 24, 2007 Messages 3,365 Location Quebec, Canada Mar 20, 2007 #3 Yes ! When I tried to make nitric acid, it dissolved my LDPE plastic. I think it can dissolves PET too. The reaction is also exothermic so don't take a too thin plastic ! Take care.
