I’m curious as to what effect sodium hypochlorite has on a solution containing nitric acid.
 
Well, nitric acid is a strong oxidizing acid, and sodium hypochlorite solutions are weak oxidizing bases (usually pH 10-11).

What will mostly likely happen is that some of the nitric acid will be killed off in the neutralization. Also, hypochlorous acid is extremely unstable and will immediately decompose. This ought to give you HCl, which will then be rapidly oxidized to free chlorine. There will also be some chloride floating around as well.
