Ok general question on which process to use for different type of gold...

Ok so my question is on which manner to process the different types of jewelry. Basically hot distilled nitric or sulfuric cell or some other method I'm unaware of.

Type I typically run across are

Karat - this one is pretty clear just added cause I put this thread in beginners so maybe inquarting might be explained (again lol)

Gold filled - i do hot distilled nitric on G.F. myself not sure if there is another method

H.G.E - this one i have been throwing in with GF given it's heavy plated but not sure if sulfuric cell would work better

Plated- i have just been collecting this type mostly. With hopes to start a sulfur cell at some point. Not sure I'm feeling confident enough to mess with it tho. Nitric has must lower harzard I'm told. So if nitric is the only other method then I throw it in with GF.

Well i know it looks like I answered my own question but I'm looking for new information not what I already do. If anyone would like to provide best/easiest/cost effective methods.

Many use Cupric Chloride aka AP on GF and it works well as far as I understand.
Slower than Nitric but much cheaper and forgiving.

It is discussed in detail in many threads here on the forum.
Do yourself a service and learn to use the search function.
Basically it is HCl and some corroded Copper with an air bubbler. Or a cap or two with weak peroxide to start it.

There are so many answers to your questions because of the many variables they contain such as what volumes you have , what reagents you can access, the equipment you have or access to the time you have etc.
I know I seem to come over as perhaps negative but the best methods are what works for you with what you have or can access easily.
Perhaps listing what you have access to and what you want to process might get you better answers rather than the generic replies you are getting which may or may not be helpful.

I get where you're coming from. I'm not asking cause I have all these type of materials. I was asking for education purposes. And really just the particular processes and I would take it from there in researching what each all take to do. If you are serious about learning a dangerous subject it is your responsibility to read ALL related material available and understanding the nomenclature, processes, and risks while keeping an open mind. At that point you can formulate a rational hypothesis. Charlatans are common the world over and you must protect yourself from erroneous assumptions that could be fatal, e.g. youtube "experts".
The time you've wasted on this thread would have been better spent in the library learning instead of asking.
