:shock: I just spoke with grainger..apparently they dont sell to the public?..I need nitric acid..and after much research..phone calls and time..i still do not know what the best price is..or the best place to obtain it..im located in south dakota..shipping is going to cost more than the chemical in most cases..could someone point me in the direction of some nitric acid?..i feel like a man on the ocean dieing of thirst lol..this is a dumb question i am aware..so please no burns..just help me with your knowledge.. :oops: Thanks in advance gentlemen and ladies. thanks for the fast reply..i called them already..im only looking for maybe 500ml - 1L..maybe a gallon at the most.

Curious as well, it looks like they still have the free shipping and they still sell Nitric.... but do they sell to the general public as well?
 
I doubt that you will get free shipping on nitric over a certain limit I believe 500mls it has to be shipped by ground and as a hazmat chemical.

You should fill in the spot where you are located so we can better help you out.

Graingers has decent pricing but will not sell to individuals.....only to a business.

Those folks are cleaning up. I actually looked at doing this one time. The way i understand it in order to ship it you have to be certified or take a course about the shipping procedures. Dangerous Goods (Hazmat) Transportation Regulations compliance training. I just bought 15 gallons of nitric and paid $95 for 15 gallons. What's the mark up profit on that? :mrgreen:

ive heard that before but the couple of times ive bought from them i only had to show ID.

Dudadiesel that Goldenchild mentioned is only about 10-15 minutes from Decatur on Greenbriar Road in Madison. http://www.dudadiesel.com Because of convenience and no HAZMAT fee, I've bought several things there over the past few years. He can special order things in quantity not listed on his site too. Just tell him what you want and he'll quote you a price.
 
He order's all his chemicals from the same wholesale supply house i get mine at. It's located in B'ham over in Ensley. Industrial Chemicals is the name of the place. I've seen their names on the drums that was ready to be shipped out to them in H'ville. If you want quantity go directly to them.
