I will try that. the material is marked 10% Pd and is a paste like material. sticks to everything it touches.
I will roast some to dry and then try the HNO3 rinse. I read somewhere to drop the Pd by raising the Ph. wouldn't sodium chlorate work as well?

Well some 20 years ago there was a guy who deliberatly spill butyric acid around and in the cars( in summer windows were little open) that were parked in front of his home
