phosphoric acid

A friend gave me a half gallon of phosphoric acid. I did a search on this acid and shows multiple uses for it. Most everything i read shows mixtures and solutions with differing acids. Is there a stand alone use for the phosphoric acid wihtout mixtures to be made for either recovery or refining use? MSDS dos show it to be corrosive like nitric, but will it dissolve gold plating with it?

I tried it on some gold plated parts. It did nothing except make them nice and sparkly.

good for rusted items, its a weak acid, also good to descale calcium type deposits from boiling off the water.
