Possible nitric source?

I was looking at firearm rebluing chemicals and noticed one that the top 3 ingredients were Nitric acid, sodium nitrate, and potassium chlorate.

Would this be too impure of a solution to dissolve base metals or use in other processes?

I Just reblued my Westerfield .22 my dad gave me when i was a kid i got some of the blueing striper witch I belive is was your talking about on my hand and it didnt burn me so i would say its to weak.
