I just picked up some Roche KNO3 on Ebay. 10 lbs for $20. plus shipping..$36 and change.

If you want to make good quality Nitric, this is what to use.

On edit: The seller, pvconly.com , has it listed for $17.50 for 10 lbs. +shipping. It might be cheaper to get it directly from them.
