I was considering using electrolysis to recover silver from industrial fixer solution. The 100 gallons of fixer solution has about 8-10g ag per liter. i will be processing 100 gallons at a time. I am wanting to use electrolysis because we are required by the city to get the silver content down to 3ppm. i understand that this cannot be achieved through electrolysis but we have secondary recovery systems in place to ensure our impact on the environment will be minimal if any. Is there any suggestions on the setup of the initial recovery unit? I know this question is kind of vague but i just was curious as to what different ideas i could receive. Ask me any questions and please feel free to share your thoughts.

Greatly appreciated

You can pick up a used recovery unit for less than making your own from eBay, amazon, etc. A ton of them out there from printing companies that have gone under or went digital.

When it gets down to it's min amount it will recover then setup a recirculation system to push it through a steel cartridge to get the rest.
