Well lets see, .85 per lb. from Republic x 996.6 = $847.11 on the bottom line as compared to my bottom line from SIPI of $2,799.91
Just comparing the boards...apples to apples. I still have all the chips.

I'm just a little confused. Were you only paid .85 per lb from Republic or was that their treatment charge?

Your net weight from Republic was exactly the same as from Sipi. 996.6 lbs. That is a little too coincidental.

Maybe I'm missing something?

How about scanning and posting your settlements from each? Just blur any personally identifying information in the scans before posting.

That is where the $.85 per pound came from.

Right - I see that part now.

Ok, that being said, it is still not an apples to apples comparison. One company paid for the boards outright, and the other provided refining services.

It is a bit of a stretch to claim a company is out of line when you don't have actual results from them.

Teabone's post was from May 25, 2009. You know what gold was back then? $945. Silver was $14.80. PT was $1128, PD was $229, and CU was about $1.85/lb.

Smack, have you called Republic for a quote on that kind of material based on 2011 prices?

That is a good point.

So you were paid approximately $2.81 per pound for just shy of 1000 pounds of cherry picked boards by SIPI.

Just how little did Republic return for similar material?

Your right, I should have put the proper pricing on it for the time frame sry. $847.11 v. $1525.26

I understand the point you are trying to make, but you are still not comparing the same service.

The only way you can have a fair comparison is to have refining quotes both from Republic and from Sipi. Then you have to send them each the EXACT same material to process. Only then can you compare the bottom line.

In the Republic example, they were asked to look at some stripped boards and buy them prior to processing. They were asked to assume the risk in the transaction. Did you ask what Sipi would have paid you for the board just to buy them outright? I don't think it would have been close to $2.81/lb.

Does anyone have any contact information for these refineries? I have e-mailed SIPI Metals 3 times so far. One came back undeliverable, the other two ( to different addresses) went through I suppose, but I have not heard back from them. :|
