I have some ribbons that obviously have gold in them, but I'm at a loss as to how to get it out of the ribbons. Should I just incinerate the ribbons?

They are only gold plated on the ends, no? I don't think the entire ribbon is plated, unless I'm mistaken.
Cut the ends off with scissors and throw them in with fingers, that's what I'm doing.
The rest of the ribbon goes in with the cut scrap wire.

Thanks resabed01, it appears that there is a lot of gold in the ribbons as well. There are some gold pads on them similar to what you see on cellphone pads which I believe to be silver. Those go into my mylar lot.

Im at a loss on what to do with these myself i have ones like that as well. Im trying to see if i can peel it open by heating the glue that bonds it. Then if thats to much ill try melting the plastic away with indirect heat ill keep you posted.
