Hello Gold Refining Forum - I am a new member here with a unique situation:
I’m an American with a background in quantitative trading and FinTech software development. My colleagues and I are working with a mining operation in the U.S. focused on platinum group metals (PGMs). The operation has shown strong results in assays and lab tests. We collaborate with a metallurgical expert who has developed a specialized process for improving metal yields from concentrate materials. The mine handles its own beneficiation and produces a significant amount of concentrate.
Our challenge is that the concentrate contains hazardous materials, including sulfuric compounds and elements like arsenic and manganese. Most processors in the U.S. are not equipped to handle this type of material, and we’ve been told that setting up our own processing facility in the U.S. involves lengthy and costly permitting processes.
We’re exploring PGM toll processors outside the U.S. but have struggled to find reliable options. If anyone here specializes in PGM processing, smelting, or refining—especially with experience handling complex concentrates—I’d appreciate the chance to connect. I can provide more details privately if there’s interest.
