I'm told for treating catalytic converters, it may be used to create free Br for the recovery, esp. of Rhodium. Oxidizing further with Ozone is supposed to help too.
If anybody knows a better price than Brainerd's price, $181/55 lbs, I'd sure be grateful.
A while back, somebody on this list mentioned how to get it from Great Lakes Chem (near Chicago) but I'm not finding anything on their site.
