[b  I have been using NaNO3 for making aqua regia for some time now and it works great. Due to my own screw-up, I accidentally ordered 5-pounds of of potassium nitrate on e-bay. I know that KNO3 can be substituded for NaNO3 but IN WHAT GRAM/MOLE PROPORTIONS? NaNO3 is [email protected] + 480ml H2O + 980ml HCL. Do I use the same amount of KNO3 as the NaNO3? In essence, how many grams of potassium nitrate is required vs sodium nitrate to make 1 liter of aqua regia? Thank you in advance!

You need to use a slightly different amount. The equivalent amount of potassium nitrate is 269.772g. Convert to what you were using to moles then multiply that number by the molecular weight of what you want to use. Simple.
