Stannous Chloride

I've made stannous chloride per lazersteve's video instruction. Does it have to hot to be reactive?

I've never used it heated.

Heat the Hcl when you dissolve the tin into it to make stannous chloride, That's the only time i heat it.

Hot acidic stannous can be used to indicate Rhodium in solution.
