Hello everyone
Merry Xmas

Short & sweet!,
Scanner keyboards--20
Assorted fingers -----50
Harddrive ide -------30
assorted boards
Pics of new setup and a little that I recovered
There is much more, however doing this in a
Less than proper environment complicates
the outcome and the entire process
Bubbled in chamber 12 hrs the 1rst night
About 10hrs the 2nd night. 96oz muriatic
and 48oz peroxide. So far so good

Having trouble
with connection I'll post other pics later

also my spray bottle broke that's why I didn't complete
I put everything back in my reaction chamber (my
Sparklers bottle if you remember)

Thanks steyr223

Oh. One more thing
What is the best way to keep recovered gold that you
Plan on refining
I have mine in a 2ltr coke bottle in water

A 2 liter Pepsi bottle is preferred by 4 out of 5 refiners in a blind "bottle holding gold test". What i heard anyways.... 8)

Thank you very much
it always looks like so much more than it really is!

actually I was hoping to get a large quantity first
and then refine it ,possibly an ounce
but I don't know if that's right to do that
anybody have any good thoughts on that

sounds like a good idea. it takes about the same amount of time and chemicals to refine a half ounce as it does a whole ounce. if you can wait to refine it would be more economical that way.

Thanks Geo
I wonder if a coke or Pepsi bottle would be better??

Hay Geo did u ever get an answer about so2
From smb or other ways to generate so2

By the way i just got a.other couple of grams
From My (will call it the Xmas batch )
Thanks steyr223

actually, i never got a reply. im assuming that buying SO2 gas in a cylinder is easier than making yourself outside of SMB. i do know there are several reaction that produce sulfur dioxide gas. i would imagine it could be as simple as using closed reaction chamber with a vent. most rubber tubing is not reactive to chlorine or sulfuric so no problems there. maybe rig a mason jar with a tube cemented into the lid and SMB in water solution and warmed might create enough gas to precipitate a small amount of gold. i may do an experiment myself to see if it works.

SO2 gas generators would be fairly easy to make using lab glass, or even from other glass rigs. But as Geo stated SMB (or sodium sulfites) is easy to get and will do a similar job for most reactions without all of the trouble, if you wanted an SO2 gas generator there are several reactions that can form this gas to bubble into a solution, I have made some notes of some of these reactions and generators, but with the stacks of paperwork I collect a simple search on goggle you would find the reaction simpler.

Some that comes to mind.

Burning sulfur.

Another is to take sodium bisulfate salts (a byproduct produced from making nitric acid using excess H2SO4), and adding HCl:
NaHSO3 + HCL --> SO2 (gas) + NaCl (table salts),
This gas in iced water will hold the SO2 in solution.

Many solutions produce SO2 gas; the key would be to find one from readily available chemicals that would produce the most volumes of SO2 gas in an easily controllable reaction.

Thanks everybody you guys are magnificent I love the info on This form
by the way your little debate on the picture fixer solution outrageous the most excitement I've had in weeks

Any way here's the pics I promised of My setup

Nice, i notice the Little Ceasars Hot-N-Ready on the dash. Makes me kinda hungry!

I hope all had a good new years
I finished rmy process with 3 separate wash and filter sessions
And each time putting the old copper chloride back in my reaction chamber
Tonight I put in 380 grams of copper plated pins and cable connectors from
cell sites
Tomorrow mayby a few hundred gams of boards
I'll post pics
