Too much SMB

Hi all. Im new to this and have a big problem. My son thought he would help when I was away for a month and put according to him 1 foot copper 1/2 inch tube, 2 cups of CL then when he said the copper tube was gone put in 2 cups yes TWO cups of SMB in the 2000ml beaker. Help I cannot find a solution to fix this problem of a beaker full of crystals and possible loss of around 6 grams Au.

If the copper tube has completely dissolved and you have large crystals in your solution I'd suggest warming it slowly and adding more water, with that much SMB in there the gold should have precipitated. If some of the copper tube remains chances are your gold cemented out of solution so your gold could be on the remaining copper or as a black looking powder in the bottom of your beaker, in either case simply dissolve the metal and or powder filter and precipitate.
You can't lose your gold if you do not throw anything away!

Use stannous to test the solution for dissolved gold.
There is no use to recover gold from a solution that doesn't contain gold.
