My guess is from just over 4 grams a kilo.

How thick are the pins? Solid ones or thin?

It all depends on the size of the pins (I assume Deutsch connector pins?). The smaller the pins, the more pins in a Kilo. The last batch I did was kind of a mixture and if I remember right, I got 3.5 grams. I used a stripping cell, so it doesn't always strip the gold out of the inside of the female pins. That batch wasn't magnetic, so those pins were used in the stock pot.... any remaining gold on the pins was recovered later.

Most of my pins still had the stainless-steel sleeves and locking collars attached, so I had to remove those before I put them through the cell.... that was hard on the fingers. I just couldn't justify using that much nitric to dissolve away all the base metals when the stripping cell was quick and easy. Plus, that left me clean material for the stock pot.

I have always thought that any silver plated copper should be used for cementation of silver solutions so the gold plated copper alloys seem a natural for the stock pot even if stripped as any remaining values will be recovered for free.

they are very solid.

Well, as eaglekeeper said.

The smaller the pins, the more pins in a Kilo.

That 800 grams can still yield 3 or more grams of gold.
Only way to really find out is to strip them.
A picture of the pins with the actual yield you get from them would help others in estimating their pins.

In my experience "heavy" plated pins can run anywhere from 6.6 grams to 11 grams per kilo

It also makes a huge difference if the declaration of "heavy" was derived from actual measurement or from a sellers opinion. (not a biased opinion of course)

1974 manufacturing from Germany, for aircraft electronics? Yeah, those could be REALLY good. I have some German circuit boards from a piece of science equipment made in the late 1980's and even the circuit traces have gold plating thick enough that the foils come off intact.

4Metals, I see you are still around! It’s been awhile for me but glad to see the hobby is still growing and you guys are giving the new guys a hand and advice. I have just been collecting materials the last 4-5 years as I can’t get the chemicals I want here and I’m not going to pay astronomical prices. However I finally got enough foils that I can do a small batch with HCl and bleach. Sorry not trying to high jack this thread just wanted to say hello!

I will tell you soon if it is gold or ordinary beryllium bronzeBy the way,these conectors are numbered and the price of one 15grams of these conectors is 1500dollars.It is ,i think too expensive to be beryllium bronze.The number of these conectorsis: V774--you can check it.Regards Arthur Kierski

4metals,I am retired,but my son took over my lab.But i have a friend that is one of the big scrap dealer in Sao Paulo.He collects the scraps and separate the copper(over 20tons weekly) and sell the copper to copper refiners.With this material that he colects comes great quantites of E-scrap like conectors,cell phones, and all kinds of materials with pms,specially gold and silver--his interest was copper,and did not care of the other scraps.So,imade a partnership with him to purify these pms and share the profits with him. This scrap cost nothing to me,and gives to him an extra profit to my friens.
